Resting Roo Review: Our Pregnant Tester Loved the Support—but Needed More Bed

The maternity sleep system helped our reviewer get comfortable during pregnancy. The smaller support pillows became nightly essentials, while the full setup proved too bulky for her shared full-size bed.

A pregnancy pillow can feel incredible and still be the wrong fit for your bed. That was the surprisingly clear takeaway when our reviewer tried the Resting Roo Maternity Sleep System.

She loved the support. On the nights she used the complete setup, she reported sleeping extremely well, with her belly comfortably supported and the pillows staying largely where she wanted them. But sharing a full-size bed with her husband made the arrangement difficult enough that she stopped using the largest piece.

The smaller pillows? Those stayed.

Our reviewer continued using the individual wedges and support pillows every night, replacing other pregnancy pillows she had previously purchased. Her experience makes a compelling case for the comfort of the components—and raises a practical question about buying the entire system.

Our Resting Roo review at a glance

Our verdict: Resting Roo delivered the soft, lasting support our reviewer wanted, but the complete setup was too bulky for her shared full-size bed. We would consider it for someone who wants substantial full-body support and has room to accommodate it. We would be more cautious if you primarily need a few smaller pillows.

What is the Resting Roo Maternity Sleep System?

Resting Roo combines a foam base with separate wedges and support pillows. The brand lists a high-density foam base, memory foam top layer and overall dimensions of 76.25 by 33 inches.

At the time of reporting, the system was listed at $699, with presale orders estimated to ship November 10, 2026. Check the product page for current availability.

Those details matter because this is a substantial purchase—and a substantial addition to the bed. Our reviewer’s experience suggests that deciding whether you want an entire sleep setup or simply more targeted support is essential before buying.

How we evaluated it

Our reviewer had been struggling to get comfortable as her pregnancy progressed. Previously a belly and back sleeper, she wanted a more comfortable side-sleeping setup with support for her belly, hips, legs and back.

She had used regular pillows and tried other pregnancy pillows, including a wedge purchased on Amazon. For this review, she shared detailed feedback about setup, comfort, bed space, overnight adjustments and which components she actually continued using.

She was in her third trimester when she provided her feedback. She did not specify her starting gestational week or an exact testing duration. She used the full setup only a few times and reported using the smaller components nightly. This review reflects that experience, rather than extended testing of the complete system.

What our reviewer liked about Resting Roo

The full setup felt exceptionally comfortable

Comfort was never the reason our reviewer stopped using the largest piece.

When she slept on the complete setup, she found it easier to get comfortable and particularly appreciated the support around her belly. She reported sleeping extremely well, and the support pillows stayed relatively stable overnight.

That distinction matters: a product can deliver on comfort while still being impractical in someone’s bedroom. For our reviewer, both things were true.

The smaller support pillows became the everyday favorites

The individual pieces were the part of Resting Roo that fit most naturally into her life.

Her nightly arrangement included the two wedges and support pillows, with support between her legs. She also added a separate pillow near her feet to elevate her legs. When she used the full setup, she kept her regular head pillow.

Being able to use selected pieces meant she could keep the support she liked without committing to the entire footprint. She found the Resting Roo components softer and more comfortable than the other wedges she had tried, and she stopped reaching for those older pillows.

Softness didn’t come at the expense of overnight support

Our reviewer described the support pillows as very soft while still providing the cushioning she needed. She said they remained supportive throughout the night.

That is more useful than softness alone. Her feedback wasn’t simply that the pillows felt nice when she first got into bed; the wedges and leg support helped her remain comfortable as the night went on.

She also reported no overheating, although she generally runs cold. Her experience therefore offers limited guidance for someone who regularly sleeps hot.

The biggest drawback: sharing a full-size bed

The complete Resting Roo setup occupied too much room for our reviewer and her husband to comfortably share their full-size bed.

It also changed how they felt positioned next to each other. She described the sensation as almost having another mattress in the bed, with the two of them sleeping at different levels.

That was enough to outweigh the comfort of the full setup. After using it a few times, she switched to the smaller components.

If you share a full-size bed, this is the most important finding in our review. The individual pillows were practical in her space; the complete arrangement was not.

A larger bed or sleeping alone might make the system easier to accommodate, but we did not test those scenarios. We would not assume that a queen or king automatically resolves the issue—particularly if you prefer sleeping close to your partner.

Setup and middle-of-the-night adjustments

Our reviewer found setup manageable, although she would have appreciated more instructional images showing possible arrangements. Some experimentation helped her figure out what felt comfortable.

She noticed no smell and did not report needing to wait for her sample to fluff up. The brand says retail orders arrive compressed and vacuum-sealed, so buyers should follow the included unboxing directions.

Overnight, the larger setup stayed in place better than the smaller pieces used independently. With her preferred smaller arrangement, she needed to reposition some pillows after getting out of bed, but she did not find that especially difficult.

The tradeoff was straightforward: the complete setup offered more stability, while the smaller pieces were easier to live with in her shared bed.

Washing and care: what we haven’t tested

Our reviewer had not washed the pieces when she submitted her feedback, so we cannot assess cover removal, shrinkage, pilling or how the components hold up after laundering.

The manufacturer says removable covers can be machine-washed warm and tumble-dried low or line-dried in the shade. Those are care instructions, not washing results from our reviewer.

Is Resting Roo worth it?

Our reviewer said she would spend her own money on the individual support pieces. She used them every night and preferred them to the pregnancy pillows she had purchased previously.

That is meaningful praise. It is not the same as saying she would spend $699 on the complete system.

For someone who wants the full-body setup and has enough space, her experience is encouraging: she found it extremely comfortable and felt well supported. For someone who mainly wants belly wedges and a pillow between their legs, this review does not establish that buying the entire system is the best use of their budget.

Resting Roo’s published return policy offers a 14-day trial starting on delivery, with a full refund and return shipping covered, subject to its terms. You must contact the company within that window, obtain authorization and ship the product back within three business days of receiving the authorization and label. We did not test the return process.

Our recommendation: decide whether you want—and can accommodate—the complete setup before purchasing. Our reviewer’s enthusiasm for the smaller pieces should not be mistaken for a recommendation to buy more pillow than you need.

Frequently asked questions

Can you use the Resting Roo support pillows without the full setup?

Our reviewer did. She stopped using the largest piece because of its size and continued using the individual wedges and support pillows every night.

Does Resting Roo work in a shared full-size bed?

The complete setup was too bulky for our reviewer to comfortably share her full-size bed with her husband. Using the smaller components separately worked better for them.

Did our reviewer sleep better with Resting Roo?

She reported sleeping extremely well when using the complete setup and said the smaller pieces continued to help her get and stay comfortable. These are her personal observations; we did not measure sleep duration or quality with a tracking device.

Can you buy only the smaller Resting Roo pillows?

We have not confirmed that the individual components are available separately. Our reviewer’s preference for them describes how she used her sample, rather than a verified standalone purchase option.
